Top Lodging Gem #11 – Tettegouche State Park – Illgen Falls Cabin, Silver Bay, Minnesota

We’re starting the first week of the countdown with one of my favorite cabins found in northern Minnesota.

Tettegouche State Park Cabin overlooks Illgen Falls along the Baptism River. The secluded cabin is available year round.

If you love to hike, Tettegouche State Park has a plethora of choices along the cliffs of the north shore.

One of the best features of the cabin is being lulled to sleep by Illgen Falls (except in winter when the water is frozen).

During our last visit, while we sat on the rocks watching and listening to the water falls, we watched a beaver for about 15 minutes swimming around. And to our delight, climbed over a rock about 10 feet from us. I didn’t have my camera, but it made for a memorable moment.
