My first close grizzly encounter after arriving at Katmai National Park. While walking toward Brooks Waterfalls from Brooks Camp, which is about 1.5 miles, this grizzly was also using the path!

And, right behind her...

...was her yearling cub. I was only able to take a few photos since they were walking right toward me. After I took this photo, I headed back down the trail with both grizzlies not far behind... View larger image.
